Adam Edelman BWAdam EdelmanAdam Edelman is the President and CEO at Refined Branding, a marketing and business development firm that specializes in brand audits, brand clarification, marketing automation, marketing and sales, and pairing businesses with the marketing resources that will help them grow.  Mr. Edelman boasts over 25 years of experience across a wide variety of industries, including several forays into the non-profit world.He lives in Baltimore, MD with his wife and four children.

Robert Frohlinger Prior to founding Kikar Group, since 2005 Robert was VP of Strategic Planning with Old City Partners, a privately owned investment fund. He oversaw the extensive review of potential deal flow and was an active participant in the investment team. Robert came to OCP from Macys/Federated Department Stores, where he held the position of Vice President DMM. Robert has over 17 years of experience in creating, developing and managing multi hundred-million dollar retail businesses. His tenure at Federated exposed him to building home store, ready to wear and center core product assortments, marketing strategies and merchandising methods. He is a graduate of Yeshiva University and holds a BA in Finance and Marketing. Robert sits on numerous boards of Israeli and American based consumer product companies.

 

Reva GertelReva Gertel Reva Gertel has been a clinical social worker in private practice for the past 21 years. A resident of Brookline, MA, Mrs. Gertel has been an active volunteer for the Maimonides School for several decades. She presently serves as President of Maayan, an organization focused on the development of text-based Torah study for women.  Mrs. Gertel is also a proud supporter of many worthwhile Jewish and secular causes around the globe.

 

Avi GoldbergAvi Goldberg Avi Goldberg is the Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer at GreatPoint Energy, where he is responsible for managing the legal, human resource, physical infrastructure, and planning functions.  In 2001, Mr. Goldberg co-founded Coatue Corporation, a microelectronics company developing novel polymer materials for use in the semiconductor industry.  As the Chief Operating Officer and a member of the Board of Directors, he was instrumental in assembling the executive team, securing venture and debt financing, and negotiating the sale of the company in June 2003 to Advanced Micro Devices (NYSE: AMD).From 1998 through 2000, Mr. Goldberg served as Director of Worldwide Sales and Profit Optimization for Cignal Global Communications, where he managed global sales and cost containment for Cignal’s core business units, generating over $50 million a year in revenue.

Currently, Mr. Goldberg is also a Partner at GreatPoint Ventures, a specialized investment firm focused on early stage commercialization of new, cutting-edge technologies, and sits on the Board of Zafgen, a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing obesity therapies.

 

Kadish_BW_UpdatedAri Kadish Ari Kadish is a Vice President at JPMorgan Chase & Co., one of the largest global investment banks.  Mr. Kadish has been with JPMorgan for over 15 years and currently serves as a Senior Credit Analyst in JPMorgan’s Credit Portfolio Group.  He focuses on company specific credit analysis in the Technology, Media, and Cable sectors, and specializes in capital structure analysis and valuation.

Mr. Kadish, a graduate of Yeshiva University is very active in many philanthropic causes including the Wounded Warrior Project, Yeshivat Reishit Yerushalayim, and NCSY.

 

Jonathan Kestenbaum BWJonathan Kestenbaum Since moving to Israel in 2000, Jonathan Kestenbaum has founded and been involved in multiple start-up companies and ventures, including Amerifone (Voice-Over-IP), Jewberry (a Jewish Siddur app on the Blackberry platform), Taiku (a popular Asian restaurant in the German Colony), Breathewell (an alternative medicine concept), Real Aesthetics (medical device for the aesthetics industry), and BuildingLink (a residential property management and communications tool).  Mr. Kestenbaum currently serves as VP of International Business Development for BuildingLink.Mr. Kestenbaum is the treasurer of his Jerusalem-based synagogue and is a Board Member of Simcha Layeled, an Israeli non-profit organization helping children and families live with chronic illness.  Jonathan lives in Jerusalem with his wife and six children.

 

Yonah HeadshotYonah Lloyd Yonah Lloyd is the CCO and SVP Business Development for Mobileye N.V. (NYSE: MBLY), the global leader for design and development of camera-based Advanced Driver Assistance Systems.  From 2010-2014 Mr. Lloyd served as President and Chief Corporate Development and Communications Officer for SodaStream, Inc., the world leader in consumer home carbonation products.  From 2008 to 2010, Mr. Lloyd served as EVP Sales and Business Development for Cupron Inc., a developer of antimicrobial and skin treatment technology for consumers and medical settings.  From 1996-2007 Mr. Lloyd served as SVP of Sales and Marketing at IDT/Net2Phone, Inc.  From 1990-1996 Mr. Lloyd was an Assistant District Attorney in Bronx County, New York.

 

Jeremy Lustman BWJeremy Lustman Jeremy Lustman is a partner in DLA Piper’s Corporate and Securities group and helps lead the firm’s global Israel practice. Mr. Lustman coordinates and helps lead DLA Piper’s development efforts and initiatives cultivating international business emanating from Israel, serves as a liaison for Israeli clients seeking legal guidance in non-Israeli jurisdictions where DLA Piper has a presence, and provides guidance to non-Israeli clients evaluating business relationships and strategic partners within Israel.Mr. Lustman graduated summa cum laude from Yeshiva University and cum laude from Georgetown Law School.  While in law school, Mr. Lustman served as a Primary Editor for the State and Local Tax Lawyer, a publication of the Section of Taxation of the American Bar Association.  He is a member of the bars of both Maryland and the District of Columbia.

Mr. Lustman currently sits on the board of Israeli non-profit Simcha Layeled, and is a past board member of both American Friends of Yeshivat Sha’alvim and Hillel at University of Maryland College Park.

 

Ron_OstroffRon Ostroff is a senior level executive, who has spent much of his career insuring the elderly have excellent care. He brings over 20 years of experience owning, operating and consulting for multi-facility skilled nursing groups. Ron has repeatedly transformed facilities that were poorly managed, losing money and had a poor reputation to being profitable and some of the most sought after facilities for elderly care. His compassion for the elderly and their loved ones, his strong business acumen and his emphasis on regulatory compliance are some of the key drivers to his success.

Ron’s experiences with the elderly fuel his desire to deliver solutions that provide a peace of mind to the individual and their loved ones. 

 

Andrew PerlmanAndrew Perlman Andrew Perlman is the Chief Executive Officer of GreatPoint Energy.  Since co-founding the company in 2004, Mr. Perlman has been intimately involved in all aspects of its growth, driving the development of its technology, and building a highly experienced team.  Prior to founding GreatPoint Energy, he served as the Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of Coatue Corporation, a microelectronics company which was purchased by Advanced Micro Devices (NYSE: AMD).  In 1995, Mr. Perlman founded Cignal Global Communications, a pioneer in integrated voice/data network communications, and served as the company’s President until its sale in 2000 to one of the largest cable operators in Europe.  He is an entrepreneur who has successfully co-founded eight venture-backed companies.Mr. Perlman is also a Partner at GreatPoint Ventures, an investment firm focused on early stage commercialization of new, cutting-edge technologies, and sits on the Board of Coskata, a producer of low cost ethanol and plastics from biomass or natural gas.  He was selected by the MIT Technology Review as one of the world’s top 35 innovators under the age of 35, by the Boston Business Journal as one of the most promising business people in Massachusetts, and has been profiled by the Wall Street Journal as a leading young entrepreneur.

 

Sydney Perry-bwSydney A. PerrySydney A. Perry is the Chief Executive Officer of the Jewish Federation of Greater New Haven and the Jewish Community Center of New Haven.  Previously, Ms. Perry served as the Director of the Department of Jewish Education (DJE), the educational arm of the Jewish Federation of Greater New Haven, for 17 years.  During her tenure, she worked to improve the synagogue supplementary schools and served as a consultant to the community on educational endeavors.  Under her guidance the DJE offered extensive adult educational opportunities and developed the new adult institute, Midrasha; spearheaded The Israel Experience Savings Program (TIES); established Talmud Torah Meyuchad, a special needs education program; and developed the successful community Hebrew High School, MAKOM.An honors graduate of Smith College, Ms. Perry pursued graduate work at Hartford Theological Seminary in Islamics. She also taught Rabbinics and Bible at Ezra Academy and led the largest New England contingent to March of the Living on six separate occasions.

Ms. Perry has been nominated for national awards for educational initiatives and serves on committees of the Jewish Educational Society of North America and Bureau Directors Fellowship. She is the winner of the Eisner Educators’ Award for community service, the Gan School’s Pillar of the Community Award, Ezra Academy’s Distinguished Leader Award, Brandeis University Award, and BBYO’s Eitz Chaim Award for her commitment to Jewish youth.

Ms. Perry is the mother of 6 children and a proud grandmother of 16.  She lives in New Haven with her husband, Professor Theodore A. Perry.

 

Avi Schreiber BWAvi Schreiber

Avi Schreiber is a Senior Vice President at D. E. Shaw & Co., L.P., a global investment and technology development firm based in New York.  Mr. Schreiber has been with D. E. Shaw & Co., L.P. for over 18 years, specializing in contract review and negotiation of financial securities trading agreements.  Prior to joining D. E. Shaw, Mr. Schreiber held a managerial position at Con Edison for over 7 years.

 

Philip_BWPhilip SteinPhilip Stein is President of Philip Stein and Associates, the largest U.S. accounting firm in Israel.  Mr. Stein began his career at Ernst & Ernst, a predecessor to Ernst & Young, in the Chicago tax department.  He also held teaching positions at Roosevelt University, Loyal University and Northeastern University in Chicago.In 1979, he moved to Israel and began his practice alone, preparing tax returns by hand.  In the early 1990s, he became one of the first U.S. accountants to work in the Israeli hi-tech sector.

Mr. Stein graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelors degree in Accounting, received his CPA license in 1976, and earned an MBA from the University of Michigan in 1977 with a specialization in taxation.  He is a fan of Chicago-based sports teams and a lover of hiking, jogging, and snowshoeing. Mr. Stein has been blessed with 5 children and 2 grandchildren.

 

Charles TrauringDr. Charles M. TrauringCharles M. Trauring, D.M.D., held the position of Assistant Clinical Professor of Prosthetic Dentistry at Harvard from 1969-1979, and was Visiting Professor at the Henry Goldman School of Dentistry.  Dr. Trauring, himself a cum laude graduate, is a Member of the Dean’s Advisory Committee and of the Board of Fellows at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine.  He also served as a Member of Harvard University’s Committee on University Resources (COURS) from 1999 to 2004. He has practiced and lectured on Restorative and Cosmetic Dentistry from 1968 to the present.Dr. Trauring is an avid biker and has been involved in many philanthropic causes.

 

Rabbi Shimmy Trencher BW3Rabbi Shimmy TrencherRabbi Shimmy Trencher, LCSW, is a Jewish educator and social worker with over a decade of experience working with Jewish children and teens, including his current roles as the Dean of Students at the Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy in Silver Spring. Rabbi Trencher is also the founder and director of Heart, Mind & Soul, a non-profit organization that develops and runs leadership development programs for Jewish teens.Previously, Rabbi Trencher served as Assistant Director of New England Region NCSY for seven years. He is a licensed clinical social worker, certified parenting coach, and a published author, with a number of articles and lectures on topics of personal growth within Judaism and parenting approaches and techniques appearing in top social work publications and Jewish media outlets.

 

Rabbi Elie Weinstock BWRabbi Elie Weinstock

Rabbi Elie Weinstock is Associate Rabbi and Director of Education and Outreach at Congregation Kehilath Jeshurun in New York City.  Rabbi Weinstock also a member of the Talmud faculty at the Ramaz Middle School. A veteran of both formal and informal educational programs, Rabbi Weinstock received his Rabbinic ordination from the Yeshiva University affiliate Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary and a Masters in Jewish Philosophy from the Bernard Revel Graduate school.
